Dr. Michael O’Shea

Dr. Michael O’Shea has been a Director of Riverglen Unit at Greenwich Hospital from 1997-2014 and he is currently a Senior Staff Specialist at Greenwich Hospital, a Visiting Medical Officer at Northside Clinic, and he has a private practice at Greenwich Specialist Consulting Rooms. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

His special interests include:

  • Mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder, specialising in combining medication treatment with psychotherapy counselling to maximise recovery from the condition
  • Anxiety Disorders including OCD, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and social phobia
  • Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Alcohol and Drug Dependency
  • Psychiatry of the elderly
    • Memory problems – assessment and management of memory disorders
    • Mood disorders – depression and bipolar disorder
    • Dementia – assessment and management

He is a member of the Section of Psychotherapy and a member of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age.

Dr Mark Rowe

Dr Mark Rowe is a Consultant Psychiatrist in full time private practice at St Leonards with a particular interest in sub-typing depressive illneses, bipolar disorder, psychopharmacology, and mood disorders which may be persistent, only partially responsive to treatment, or treatment resistant. He is a visiting Medical Officer to the Northside Clinic, Greenwhich where he works in the sub-specialised Mood Disorders Unit. He has held various roles on Advisory Boards of Pharmaceutical companies.

Dr Rowe sees patients only with a provisional diagnosis of a primary Mood Disorder from age 15 onwards.

Dr Raphael Chan

Raphael is a psychiatrist with a special interest in working with children, adolescents and young adults. He is a medical graduate of Sydney University. Prior to joining Greenwich Specialist Consulting Rooms, he was a public sector psychiatrist for over 10 years, first as staff specialist at the Northern Beaches Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Sydney, then as consultant psychiatrist in the Adult Mental Health Service at Bloomfield Hospital in Orange, NSW. He is also a member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal.

Dr Lisa Brown

Dr Lisa Brown is a general and forensic psychiatrist. Dr Brown graduated with a medical degree (Honours) from the University of Sydney in 1984 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 1993. In addition to conducting a private practice, Dr Brown is a Visiting Medical Officer to the Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre and holds an academic position as clinical lecturer with the University of Sydney. Dr Brown’s research interests include sexual abuse and eating disorders.

Dr Brown provides medicolegal reports in criminal and civil matters, including for medical negligence and personal injury claims. Dr Brown is not currently taking on new patients but is able to undertake medicolegal assessments.

Dr Tony Mastroianni

Dr Tony Mastroianni is a consultant psychiatrist with subspecialty interest in adult ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, substance dependence, and psychosis. He is a senior psychiatrist in the Rehabilitation Unit of the Sydney Forensic Hospital, a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales, a supervisor of senior psychiatric registrar training, a member of the Faculty of Forensic Psychiatry and a specialist lecturer in adult ADHD and its comorbidity.

Dr Beverley Turner

Dr Turner graduated in medicine in 1972 and has worked in general practice and child protection prior to a career in psychiatry. She has expertise in the areas of:

Dr. Jay Bains

Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist, BSc (Hons), MBBS, MPhil (Cambridge), MRCPsych, MMed (Psychotherapy), FRANZCP, Cert. Psychotherapy Psych

Dr Bains is a conjoint lecturer at Sydney University in Psychological Medicine, a faculty member in the Sydney University Master of Medicine Program in Psychotherapy and a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Faculty of Psychotherapy.  He has trained in the UK and in Australia and hold postgraduate qualifications in history and psychotherapy.
Dr Bains specialises in general adult psychiatrist and sub-specialises in the treatment of trauma related conditions, such as adult survivors of childhood trauma or neglect, chronic depression, complex PTSD and borderline personality disorder, using psychotherapy (sometimes in conjunction with appropriate medication).

Dr Hany Samir

Dr Samir is a psychiatrist in private practice at Greenwich in Sydney, specialising in Psychotherapy and Mood Disorders – Depression and Bipolar. He is a visiting specialist at the Academic Mood Disorder unit at the Northside Clinic in Greenwich, a teaching hospital for the University of Sydney and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Samir sees patients between the ages of 25 and 65.

Dr Margaret Harper


Dr Harper is Deputy Director and Consultant Psychiatrist to the Mood Disorders Unit, Northside Clinic Greenwich.

She has a private practice in Mood Disorders at the Greenwich Specialist Consulting Rooms.  She has a PhD in research into outcome in depression and is a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney.  She supervises Registrars who are training to become fellows of the College of Psychiatry.  She sees patients with:

  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Depression
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Perinatal Psychiatry

She does not see patients for medico legal or workers compensation matters.

Dr Elisabeth Cannon


Dr Cannon is a general adult psychiatrist who specialises in the assessment and management of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. In addition, she has a special interest in ADHD and cognitive disorders such as dementia and memory problems.

She completed her medical training at the University of New South Wales and has worked in both rural and metropolitan areas. After obtaining her specialist qualifications she undertook a Fellowship in Neuropsychiatry at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.

Dr Cannon has a caring and holistic yet pragmatic approach to patient care.Dr Cannon can provide teleconsultations following an initial assessment in Sydney.

Dr Grace Fong

MB BS, BSc (hons), MSc (Psychiatric Theory & Research), MRCPsych, CCST (Child & Adolescent Psychiatry), FRANZCP

Dr Fong is a UK trained Consultant Psychiatrist working part time in private practice at GSCR and part time in the public sector.

She has worked in the public sector in London and Sydney over the past 20 years.

She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Child and Adolescent Faculty and has expertise in the areas of child and adolescent mental health and psychotherapy.

Dr Fong sees children and adults.
