I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience in Australia. My specialist qualifications include Fellow of Royal Australian and NZ College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry (MD).
Professional Background
I have lived and worked overseas, in regional and urban Australia, so am at ease working with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances and familiar with a few Indian languages.
I currently work in private and public health services which gives me a broad range of experience in caring for those with psychological disorders and psychiatric illness.
Having lived and worked regionally, I am aware of the challenges to access specialist psychiatry from these areas and continue to accept referrals and provide services including by telehealth.
I teach those who are in specialist training and keep myself updated with general medical and psychiatric literature.
I focus on providing a comprehensive, psychiatric assessment and care .I encourage my patients to be well informed with a holistic approach to their health
I consult for those between 18 to 65 years of age and able to assist with assessment and care of
- Mood & Anxiety Disorders in adults: Treatment for depression, bipolar illness, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
- Neurodiversity: Assessment and management of ADHD in adults.
- Women’s Mental Health: ADHD ,psychological problems during hormonal transitions as in pregnancy, postpartum period, perimenopause, menopause, premenstrual mood disorders, PCOS/PMOS.
- Eating and Feeding Disorders: including assessment of Anorexia ,Bulimia ,Binge Eating ,ARFID and able to provide comprehensive Eating Disorder Plan and reviews.
- Consultation-Liaison: Addressing psychiatric concerns related to physical and medical illnesses e.g. hormonal disorders, memory, sleep, fatigue, weight problems etc.
I am a member of Australian Menopause Society, ADHD network of RANZCP, and regularly update myself via specialist interest networks for Women Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders etc.
